Apparel & Textile Printing Solutions

Three technologies dominate apparel and textile decorating, and they are not interchangeable. The fabric you print on usually decides which one you need — and plenty of shops run two.

Which Technology Fits Your Work

Dye-sublimation — polyester only, and unbeatable on it. Ink converts to gas under heat and bonds into the fiber itself, so the image is part of the fabric. No hand feel, nothing to crack or peel, and color survives repeated washing. It is the standard for cut-and-sew sportswear, soft signage, flags, and table covers. The hard limit is material: dye-sub will not bond to cotton, and it cannot print white, so light-colored polyester is the working range.

DTF — almost any fabric, including cotton and dark garments. The design prints onto film, gets coated with adhesive powder, and cures into a transfer you can press now or store for later. Because adhesive does the bonding rather than chemistry, DTF works on cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, and dark colors without pretreatment — and it presses onto bags, caps, and shoes as readily as shirts. The tradeoff is a slight hand feel where the transfer sits, and durability that depends on press technique.

DTG — cotton, photographic detail, softest result. Ink prints directly into the garment, so there is no transfer layer at all. On cotton it produces detail and softness neither of the other technologies can match, which is why it holds the retail-apparel end of the market. It needs pretreatment on dark garments, runs slower per piece, and works best on cotton and high-cotton blends.

Common Combinations

Sportswear and team uniforms run dye-sub, because polyester is the material and full-bleed cut-and-sew is the method. Promotional and on-demand shops run DTF, because the order mix is unpredictable and the transfers can be batched ahead. Retail and boutique apparel runs DTG, because the garment is cotton and print quality is the product.

Shops serving more than one of those markets commonly run dye-sub alongside DTF. The two cover nearly every fabric between them, and the equipment does not overlap.

What We Supply

We sell dye-sublimation printers from Epson, Mimaki, Homer, and MS Printers from 24 to 120 inches wide, along with DTF and DTG systems. We stock OEM ink plus Kiian and J-Teck dye-sub inks, transfer paper from Beaver Paper, Felix Schoeller, and Artisan, DTF film and adhesive powder, and Monti Antonio and Hotronix heat presses — shipping same day.

Every machine includes installation, training, and on-site service from our own technicians, along with RIP and color management setup. Call 800-811-3274 and we will talk through the fabrics you print, the volumes you run, and which technology — or combination — actually fits.
