Roland TrueVIS MG2-300 30" UV Printer/Cutter
Overview
Premium UV Print & Cut, Now at Roughly Double the Speed
The Roland TrueVIS MG2-300 is the next generation of Roland's MG UV printer/cutter line — a compact 30" format that pairs newly developed industrial printheads with ECO-UV ink to deliver roughly twice the productivity of the original MG Series. It prints and contour cuts in a single device, with White and Gloss on tap for specialty effects and optional Orange and Red for an expanded gamut.
The headline upgrades are production economics and capability: 1,000 ml ink pouches cut running costs by up to 40% versus 500 ml inks, and up to five ink layers lay down in a single pass — textures, white underprints, reverse printing, and spot gloss — without reverse-feeding the media.
Key Features
- Roughly 2× the speed of the original MG – New printheads and advanced waveform control raise throughput
- Resolution to 1,800 dpi – Fine detail, small text, and smooth gradients
- ECO-UV EUV5EPI ink – CMYK with White and Gloss; optional Orange and Red for wider gamut
- 1,000 ml ink pouches – Up to 40% lower running cost versus 500 ml inks
- 5-layer single-pass printing – Texture, white underprint, reverse, and spot gloss in one pass — more than competitors' three layers
- Integrated print & cut – Print and contour cut in one device with intelligent take-up
- 7-inch touchscreen with Direct Print – Start jobs at the machine after RIP setup
- Automatic media setup and calibration – Faster, hands-off job starts with less waste
- Automated maintenance – Enhanced cleaning system for dependable uptime
- VersaWorks 7 and Roland DG Connect – Professional RIP plus cloud monitoring, no subscription
Specialty Effects in a Single Pass
What sets UV print and cut apart is layering, and the MG2 takes it further. In one pass — no reverse-feeding — it can lay a white underprint for clear and dark media, build textured and dimensional surfaces, print a reverse (second-surface) image for window and backlit work, and add spot gloss for premium finishing. Up to five layers, where competing machines typically manage three. Combined with Orange and Red inks for an expanded gamut, the MG2 produces specialty graphics that command higher margins.
Lower-Cost, Higher-Throughput Production
- 1,000 ml pouches – Up to 40% lower ink cost per job than 500 ml supplies
- ~2× throughput – Produce more per shift from the same floor space
- Automatic setup – Media loading and calibration without manual steps
- Intelligent take-up – Stable handling for long, unattended runs
- Enhanced self-maintenance – Automated cleaning for less downtime
- One-year warranty – Backed by Roland DGA, with extended contracts available
