Mimaki CG-FXII Series Cutters
High-Precision Roll Cutting with Automated ID Cut
The Mimaki CG-FXII Series is a line of high-precision roll-fed cutting plotters built for sign shops, label producers, and print providers who finish what they print. Available in 30", 54", and 64" widths, they cut at speeds to 100 cm/s with the registration accuracy contour work demands.
The ID Cut function is what sets the line apart. Paired with a compatible Mimaki printer, the cutter reads job data encoded in the printed output and processes a queue of different jobs continuously — unattended, without an operator specifying each one. For shops running small-quantity, multi-product sticker and label work, that removes the most tedious step in the workflow.
Key Features
- ID Cut function – Reads printed job data and cuts a mixed queue automatically, with no per-job setup
- High-speed continuous crop mark detection – Optical sensor tracks marks across nested images with automatic correction
- Cutting speeds to 100 cm/s – Production throughput on long runs and heavily nested layouts
- Half cut function – Cuts the backing while leaving connecting points, so pieces stay in place until needed
- Over cut function – Cross cuts at start and end positions for sharp corners with no undercut fragments
- Selectable clamp pressure – Match hold-down force to the media, from thin vinyl to heavy reflective sheet
- Three selectable jog speeds – Tune movement to the material and job complexity
- Front or back media loading – Fits either orientation depending on your shop layout
- Multi-roll capacity – Set up to six rolls of media at once to reduce changeover
- FineCut9 included – Plug-in software for Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW
ID Cut & Unattended Finishing
ID Cut turns cutting from an operator task into a background process. A compatible Mimaki printer — the JV200, JV330, or CJV lines among them — embeds job identification in the printed sheet. The CG-FXII Plus reads it, retrieves the matching cut data, and works through the roll job by job. Different stickers, different shapes, different quantities, all in one continuous run. The operator loads media and walks away, which on small-quantity, multi-product orders is where most of the labor used to go.
Cutting Quality Details
- Optical registration sensor – Automatic consecutive crop mark detection with correction for media distortion
- Proprietary half cut – Small connecting points make weeding and handling far easier on delicate pieces
- Sharp corner over cut – Eliminates the ragged fragments that undercut leaves at start and end points
- Adjustable clamp pressure – Prevents slippage on heavy media without marking softer stock
- Accurate media feeding – Consistent tracking through long runs for repeatable contour accuracy
- Specialty blade support – Dedicated blades available for fluorescent and reflective vinyl
- Pouncing and pen tools – Perforate patterns or draw layouts directly on media

Why Choose the Mimaki CG-FXII Series?
The CG-FXII Series is the finishing half of a print-and-cut workflow, and ID Cut is the reason to choose it over a generic plotter. If you already run a Mimaki roll printer, the two together give you automated, unattended contour cutting across mixed job queues — the closest thing to a finishing department that doesn't need staffing.
