Eco-Solvent vs UV vs Resin/Latex

Here's a quick breakdown of the key differences between eco-solvent, UV, and resin/latex printers — and where each excels.

Eco-Solvent Printers

Best for: Signage, vehicle wraps, decals, and outdoor graphics

Why choose eco-solvent?
Eco-solvent printers are popular for producing vibrant, durable prints on vinyl and other coated media. They’re ideal for shops focused on outdoor graphics and signage.

  • Excellent color vibrancy and detail
  • Durable for long-term outdoor use
  • Works with coated and uncoated vinyls
  • Cost-effective for high-volume production

Common Applications:

  • Vehicle wraps
  • Banners & signs
  • Window graphics
  • Decals and stickers

UV Printers

Best for: Rigid signage, specialty graphics, promotional items, and heat-sensitive materials

Why choose UV?
UV printers use ultraviolet light to instantly cure ink, allowing you to print on a wide variety of rigid and flexible substrates, including plastics, wood, metal, and more.

  • Instantly dry and ready to handle
  • Supports white and clear ink for layering and special effects
  • Prints on rigid, roll-fed, or non-traditional surfaces
  • No outgassing or waiting time

Common Applications:

  • Rigid signs (PVC, acrylic, foam board)
  • Industrial parts & packaging
  • Promotional items
  • Specialty graphics

Resin / Latex Printers

Best for: Wallcoverings, fabric signage, indoor graphics, and décor

Why choose resin/latex?
Resin (or latex) printers use water-based, heat-cured inks that are odorless, flexible, and eco-friendly, making them perfect for indoor applications and soft signage.

  • Instantly dry and ready to finish
  • Odorless and eco-conscious (great for indoor spaces)
  • Highly flexible, ideal for fabric and wallpaper
  • Scratch-resistant, even without lamination

Common Applications:

  • Wallpaper and wall murals
  • Fabric signage
  • Indoor posters & displays
  • POP graphics and window décor
